Want to know more about me?

It all started with a dream

I could tell you all about my resume and my qualifications but…

I’d rather share a few things about myself that explain why I do what I do.

In 2011, at the age of 23, I moved to the United States to follow my dream: teaching Spanish and becoming bilingual.

Cova also dreamt about living abroad and becoming bilingual while teaching Spanish

The introvert abroad

I’d studied English for years, but whenever I had to speak it, I froze.

I worried about not finding the right words, making mistakes, or mispronouncing something.

And as a shy introvert, putting myself out there and talking to strangers didn’t come naturally to me either. I often stayed in my bubble.

But over the ten years I lived there, I learned to trust myself and my abilities more.

I became capable of handling situations that had once seemed impossible, both personally and professionally.

The unexpected extrovert

I’ve always been shy and introverted. But there’s one thing that brings out my more sociable side: board games.

Put me in front of a board game, and I become a different person.

I don’t worry about awkward silences or finding things to talk about. I’m too busy solving mysteries, making decisions, or trying to win.

Conversations just happen naturally.

Cova found that board games help her become more extroverted and have more natural conversations.

Where it all comes together

That experience, combined with my years living abroad and my background as a Spanish teacher, led me to develop my ELE Lúdico method.

Because I know how difficult it can be to speak another language when you’re an introvert who’s afraid of making mistakes.

And I also know how much a conversation can change when you stop worrying about every word and start enjoying what you’re doing.
